More than 60 Irish companies have embarked on a trade mission to Switzerland in a bid to develop trade links.
The Enterprise Ireland delegation, lead by minister for research and innovation Séan Sherlock, will focus on nurturing relationships in the pharmaceutical, medical devices, engineering, construction, IT and financial sector.
The three-day will include seminars, networking events and meetings with Swiss corporations and research institutions. Sherlock said: "This trade mission is about creating new Irish jobs and supporting existing ones by increasing Ireland’s exports.
"I am confident that this week’s mission will further increase business for Irish companies and ultimately help grow their employment at home." More than 200 Irish-owned companies currently trade with Switzerland, with growth figures indicating a 50 per cent rise in Swiss trade in the past three years.
